If you want to be found online you first need to consider what you want to be found for. What words or phrases do your viewers use to search the internet for the content you want to promote? Keyword research is the essential first step to any web design, digital marketing, online advertising, or SEO project. A deeper knowledge of your customers search habits will help you save money and time, as you focus your resources on the terms that will drive the right visitors to your website. There are many tools available to help you get started.
A good place to start is always Google AdWords keyword planner, and we always find Semrush useful. Start by listing a few seed keywords for your product of service, then use AdWords keyword tool to generate a list of associated search terms. Analyse your main competition using the tools mentioned, find out what keywords are working for them. Finally filter the results, you want to find keywords with high search volume but low competition. You’ll find it much easier to rank for these to start with.
