Merel approached us looking for a website for her Surrey based business, Merel Keuning Reflexology. She needed a website that would list the many ways in which she can help her clients, give some booking information, contact details, and show some of the many great testimonials she has received.
The small number of keywords that she needs to target meant that this was an ideal project for a single page web design. This would allow us to make the most of the content she has to ensure that the site ranks well in the search engines.
The site was split up into 5 main sections. A header section with bold images to capture the attention of visitors and persuade them to look further into the website. A services section to list all of Merel’s services and show the booking information. An ‘About Me’ section to tell potential clients more about Merel, her qualifications, and experience. A testimonials section to list all the kind words said about the service, and finally a contact section that included a contact form.
The website uses a responsive design so it looks just as great on mobiles as it does on a desktop computer. We added a slider to the top of the page with some bold calls to action and appropriate images. The header is sticky so the menu is always visible no matter how far you scroll down the page. We also added a couple of full width parallax boxes to help differentiate between sections and add some visual impact to the site.
The services section summaries the main treatments available. We added a map to help people find the clinic, and a tabbed box for some important background information that clients would find useful.
In the about section we added a photo of Merel. Reflexology is a personal thing and we wanted to make the site feel friendly and familiar. We also added links to social media accounts, a description of Merel’s experience and qualifications, and logos from her professional associations.
Merel had a lot of testimonials that were worth showcasing. To avoid them taking over the website, or having to pare them down, we used a couple of carousel type blocks that would scroll automatically through all the reviews.
Finally at the bottom of the page we added a contact form so customers could send messages. We also added Merel’s other contact information, and repeated the social media links in the footer.
