Project overview

Two offers. One workshop.

Kamila and Robert build bespoke, off-grid campervans from their family workshop in Fakenham, and take on the specialist jobs that people converting their own van would rather leave to an expert. The brief: a website that sells both, and a portfolio that grows with every van that leaves the workshop.

The challenge

Different customers. Different questions.

The business has two offers under one roof. A full conversion is built from start to finish to a client’s brief. The specialist services are for people converting their own van who need an expert for the electrics, insulation, windows, or water systems.

Each offer has its own customer and its own sales conversation. Someone commissioning a full build wants to see finished vans. A self-builder wants technical answers before spending money. A site that mixed the two would serve neither well.

The work itself is the business’s strongest sales tool. Every conversion starts as a bare panel van and leaves the workshop months later as a finished home on wheels. What was missing was a simple way to keep publishing those builds as each one was finished.

Room for both offers to stand on their own, and a portfolio that grows without anyone rebuilding a page.

The approach

A page for every van. An answer for every question.

  1. 01

    A page for every build.

The site is built in WordPress around a custom Conversions section. Each finished van, such as the Citroën Relay and the Fiat Ducato known as the Yeti, has its own page with the brief, the process, and a full photo gallery. Adding a new build means filling in a new entry, not editing a hand-built page.

  2. 02

    Services as their own conversation.

Specialist work has its own page rather than a paragraph in the conversions copy. It is organised around the questions self-builders ask: lithium or AGM batteries, internal or underslung water tanks, and what the DVLA requires to register a van as a motor caravan. Each answer is written in full.

  3. 03

    Answers search engines can use.

The questions and answers on the services page are marked up as FAQ structured data, so search engines can show an answer directly in their results.

  4. 04

    The workshop, in motion.

A background video on the home page, and short animations made from Kamila and Robert’s own photographs, show the workshop at work without the cost of a video shoot.

  5. 05

    A logo for dark backgrounds.

Working from the existing logo, we drew a night-time version so the mark stays visible in the footer, on social channels, and anywhere the green-on-white original would disappear.

The outcome

Room to grow, one van at a time.

Each new conversion becomes a new page in the portfolio, so the site gets stronger with every build instead of going stale between redesigns.

Self-builders have one place with full answers to the questions that come up in almost every enquiry. People commissioning a full build see finished vans without wading through battery chemistry.

With the night-time logo, the brand holds up on a dark social tile as well as on a bright hero image.
