Who you’ll work with

The person you speak to is the person who builds your site

That’s Ric, who grew up in Norfolk and started writing code in the 1980s.
BrainWeb Office in 2025

Ric answers your first enquiry, writes the quote, designs and builds the site, and is still the person who makes your changes two years later. When a project needs a specialist, such as a copywriter or an illustrator, we bring in someone we’ve worked with before and tell you who.

  • A fixed quote in writing before any work starts
  • Design changes until you’re happy with it, not a set number of rounds
  • Two hours of content updates or design tweaks in the year after launch
  • A year of hosting included, looked after by Ric

Process

How long does a new website take?

Most projects take 4 to 12 weeks from the first conversation to launch, and you can check progress on a private staging site throughout.

    Discover

A free call about your business, your customers, and what the website has to do for them.
  2. 02

A sitemap, a content outline, and a fixed quote in writing, so you know what you are getting, when, and for how much.

    Launch and aftercare

The site goes live with hosting and Google Search Console set up, and you have two hours of content updates or design tweaks to use any time in the 12 months after launch.

Testimonials

What clients say

In clients’ own words, from reviews left on Google, Facebook, and Yell.
  • Andrew Bolton

    Owner, C & A Quality Services

“Ric was suggested to me by a complete stranger and I have been very pleased with his work. He has always completed his work very much on time and the web site he produced for me I thought was exceptional. The pages exuded vigor and enthusiasm and is bound to keep any potential client 'trapped' in the web pages. He is very cost effective and was always willing to make changes to the web pages without hesitation. I would certainly recommend Ric to anyone out there.”

  • Rachel Kessler

    Owner, Two Ways Cottage

“We are delighted with Ric’s service. He is managing our holiday cottage website and we couldn’t be more happy with it. He’s smart, polite, efficient and talks in simple language to technophobes like us. Highly recommend him!”

  • Kate Watts

    Owner, Millview Meadow Glamping

“We have been working with Ric since we first launched our glamping business in 2019. Ric assisted us with setting up our website and incorporating our booking platform onto the website. He did a great job and we have been working with him ever since. He is reliable and very responsive. I can ask him for assistance with something and usually he gets to it within the same day! I would definitely recommend Ric, his work is professional and he has helped us greatly.”

Where we work

Web design in Norfolk, for businesses across the UK

BrainWeb is based in Smallburgh, a village in north Norfolk about ten minutes from North Walsham, Stalham, and Wroxham, and around half an hour from Norwich. Most of our clients are in Norfolk and East Anglia, including the Museum of the Broads and How Hill Trust, and we work with businesses right across the UK.

If you’re nearby, we’ll usually come to you for the first meeting, because seeing your workshop, shop floor, or kitchen tells us more than a video call. If you’re further away, the project runs by video call, phone, and email, as most of our projects do.

Ask a question

Not necessarily, but the more we know about what you want to say, the better the design serves it. If you have words ready, send them with your logo and photos. If not, we can help you write them as part of the project. Even a rough outline of what each page should cover is enough to start.

Where the project needs them. The brand style leans on real photography rather than illustration, but custom icons, hand-drawn diagrams, or editorial illustrations suit some projects. We'll talk through whether it's right for yours and quote any custom illustration as part of the project, or recommend an illustrator we trust if the work needs a specialist.

It depends on the size of the site and how it will be built. The design is priced together with the build, so you get one figure for the whole project rather than a separate design fee. Tell us what the site needs to do and you'll have a fixed written quote before any work begins.

A site designed from scratch for your business, not adapted from a theme. The structure, typography, photography, and small interactions are all chosen for you specifically. We don't start with a generic template and customise it; we start with a blank page and design from there. A bespoke design can be quiet, restrained, or classical; it doesn't have to be flashy. The point is that every decision is deliberate, made for you, and not running on thousands of other sites.

Yes. Every site we design is built mobile-first and tested across breakpoints. More than half of most websites' visitors arrive on a phone, so mobile isn't an afterthought; it's the starting point.

No. Hosting is paid monthly or annually, and you can cancel at any time. It carries on until the end of the period you've paid for, then stops. We'd rather keep you because the hosting is good than because leaving is hard.

Yes. We handle the whole migration: a full backup of your existing site, setting it up and testing it on our infrastructure, then switching it over with as little disruption as possible. We can cancel your old hosting afterwards too, if you'd like.

Yes. Managed WordPress hosting includes automatic daily backups with 30 days of restore points, so if something goes wrong, the site can be rolled back to a recent known-good version. Modern static sites are version-controlled in full, so the site can be rebuilt and redeployed from source at any time. Either way, a bad day is recoverable.
