The challenge
Kamila and Robert run Norfolk Van2Camper Conversions from a family workshop in Fakenham, building bespoke, off-grid campervans and taking on the specialist jobs, electrics, insulation, windows, water systems, that self-builders would rather leave to an expert.
The business had two distinct offers living under one roof: full bespoke conversions, built start to finish for a client's brief, and specialist services for people converting their own van. Each has a different customer, a different sales conversation, and a different set of questions. The site needed to hold both clearly, without one crowding out the other.
It also needed a proper home for the work itself. Every conversion is a story, a blank panel van arriving at the workshop, a brief, months of craftsmanship, a finished home on wheels, and that story is the strongest sales tool the business has. What it lacked was a structured way to keep publishing those stories as new builds were completed.
The approach
We built the site in WordPress with a custom "Conversions" post type at its centre. Each completed build, the Citroën Relay, the Fiat Ducato "Yeti", gets its own page: the brief, the process, a full photo gallery, so the portfolio grows simply by adding a new entry, rather than by editing a hand-built page each time.
The Services pillar was treated as its own conversation. Rather than folding specialist installs into the general conversions copy, it has its own page structured around the real questions self-builders ask: lithium against AGM batteries, internal against underslung water tanks, what the DVLA actually requires to register a van as a motor caravan. Each answer is written in full and marked up as FAQ schema, so search engines can serve the answer directly and the page earns its keep beyond the click.
A background video on the homepage and short animations built from the client's own static van photography brought the workshop to life without needing a full video shoot, modern tools, sensibly used, in service of a very traditional craft.
We also refreshed the Van2Camper logo. Working from Kamila and Robert's existing daytime mark, we built a night-time variant, cleaned up for use on dark backgrounds, the footer, social channels, anywhere the original green-on-white version would have disappeared.
The outcome
The site now gives Norfolk Van2Camper a proper structure to grow into: as each new conversion leaves the workshop, it becomes a new page in the portfolio rather than a rewrite of an old one, and the Services FAQ hub gives the business a single, well-answered reference point for the questions that come up in every enquiry. The logo suite means the brand now looks properly looked after wherever it appears, on a bright hero image or a dark social tile alike.
Tech stack
Built on WordPress, with a custom "Conversions" post type for the portfolio, structured FAQ content marked up with schema on the Services page, and video, both a homepage background loop and short animations built from static photography, used throughout.
