The world’s largest companies and brands are increasingly relying on digital marketing to get their message across. 72% of marketers agree that traditional marketing is no longer sufficient, and 80% expect to increase their digital budget in the next 12-18 months.
Half of all marketing jobs now require some technical skill. The skills most in demand are digital/social marketing and content creation, with analytics, mobile marketing, and SEO all highly sort after. These positions are expected to be filled by a mixture of freelancers and permanent workers.
Digital marketing will continue to develop over the next 3-5 years, with some shift on focus. Email marketing will see a small decline, while social, mobile, and video marketing all expected to play a much larger role in the coming years.
